Harvest for the Hungry Garden

I've lived in Sonoma County for 10 years already, and *finally* made a visit to the Harvest for the Hungry Garden in Santa Rosa. It's lovely!

They've got a 3/4 acre site at a church at 1717 Yulupa Ave. In the garden, there are delights everywhere you look. There's an artful cob bench, an herbal medicine garden with wonderful and informative labeling. They also have 24 rows of production garden growing with food they donate, with insectary plants interspersed.... also, a compost area, a propagation area, and a home-scale demonstration garden. It's all laid out beautifully and with such care... it's a realm of happiness and abundance!

Highly recommended if you are ever in the area. They are open for visitors every day until sunset and you can also volunteer to help out in the garden some weekday mornings. They also host gardening classes. Check out their website: http://www.harvestgarden.org/
